Volunteers And The Law

We are delighted to be running our volunteers and the law seminar again on 03 May 2017 for Volunteering Kirklees and Business in the Community. This free to attend course covers various topics relevant to volunteer co-ordinators, groups of volunteers and those connected with the third sector. From who is a volunteer, through legal rights and responsibilities, to health and safety issues.

The seminar is run by Andrew Marsden of our Batley office and Carolyn Halsworth of our Birstall office. Both Andrew and Carolyn are heavily involved in volunteer activities locally, in particular organising events, and became increasingly aware of a gap in knowledge for many local groups. As a result, and to try and help those who do so much to help others they devised the seminar.

03 May marks something of a return to the start as the first time the seminar was held was for Volunteering Kirklees. Since then Andrew and Carolyn have delivered the talk to various local (and not so local) groups and organisations.

You can book onto the 03 May seminar via this link http://volunteeringkirklees.org.uk/volunteers-and-the-law/ or for more information about the seminar or legal issues facing volunteers generally contact Andrew on 01924 473065
